26 May, 2016
Well, the ‘Season’ is now in full swing. I hope everyone’s car(s) woke up from their winter slumbers without too much persuasion. First of all, a huge “Thank You” to all who took part in the Parade For David Wood in Fergus on the 26th of April. It was a day none of us will ever forget. As you all know by now, Alan Brand has taken over as our new WebMaster, and from what I have seen, I think David’s legacy will go from strength to strength.
The deadline for contributions to the next issue of The Oily Rag is fast approaching. If you have any reports, articles, or advice to offer to our membership please submit them to me or to Ryan (firstname.lastname@example.org) before the end of May.
We had a reasonably good turnout for the Victoria Day Parade through Woodstock last Monday. With six participants, we doubled our presence from last year!
For upcoming events, please go to the Club website (http://www.bsccoc.ca/). One change that we have made is that our Events Coordinator, Tony Fox, now has access to the Website and can update the calendar on a daily basis. If you have any events that you would like added to our calendar, please let Tony know (email@example.com) and he will add them within minutes!
The main event this weekend (well, apart from the Indy 500 – come on Hinch!) is the Rootes Group Swap Meet at Grant and Jean Leonard’s home on Sunday 29th from 10.00AM ’til 3.00PM. This is the place to find that whatsit for your Alpine or Tiger that you’ve been looking for! The address is 13551 Tenth Line Georgetown ON L7G 4S8. Grant’s email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
The following Saturday (4th June) sees Brits in the Village at Blue Mountain Village (email@example.com) and also the Classic British Car Show in London (www.britishsportscarcluboflondon.com). Of course if you’re in the London area that day you will probably want to go to the Fleetwood Country Cruze-in on the Plunkett Estate. Not an all-British show, but certainly a sight to behold. Please see our events calendar for other cruises and shows, such as Caledon (11th June), and MiniMeet North and the VARAC Historic races at Mosport (17th-19th June). That same weekend (18th June, our friends in Edmonton AB will be holding their All-British Car Show at Victoria Park (http://www.albertaallbritishmotoringsociety.ca/nid/752). There is truly no excuse to spend a weekend at home from now until October!
Happy cruising, showing and shining!
