Well, Spring is supposed to be here, but in Woodstock ON we still have snow on the ground and it’s FREEZING! But whether Mother Nature likes it or not, we intend to get the season started and will be holding our Annual General Meeting next Sunday, 15th April, at Ned Devine’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, 575 Ontario Street South (Hwy 25 at Derry Road) in Milton, ON L9T 2N2. Many thanks to Martin ‘Woody’ Wood for making the reservation for us. I am attaching the agenda to this email for your reference. As usual, the election of the President and members of the Executive will take place at the AGM. Hopefully, you will have received your copy of the latest Oily Rag by then, and we will be looking forward to hearing your comments on the ‘New and Improved’ version put together by our Editor, Ryan Adams.
The following week, on Sunday 22nd April, the season really gets going with the 37th Annual British Car Flea Market and Car Show at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, Marritt Hall, at the intersection of Hwy 2 & 53 (Wilson St) and Hwy 52 (Trinity Rd). This event is Southern Ontario’s largest British car parts flea market featuring both used and new parts for all types of British cars. As always, the Club will have a table set up and we hope to meet as many of you as possible (with cash in hand, to pay your membership dues, of course!) You will also find books, clothing, regalia, car club event information and much more. The event opens at 9:00 AM and runs until 2:30 PM. Admission is $7.00, with youths under 18 admitted free. Come and browse the vendors’ tables inside Marritt Hall, and check out the parts and cars for sale at the outside vendors’ area. Refreshments are available inside and outside the hall.
There is a reserved parking area for all British cars in the ‘Show Area’ so bring yours out and be part of the show! Last year’s show was held in perfect weather and attracted over 325 British cars, some more than 75 years old. Don’t forget your camera to take pictures of your favourites. I’ll be taking my camera – I have already started collecting photos for our 2019 Club calendar!
After that, please refer to the Events Calendar on the Club Website: http://www.bsccoc.org/events/2018-calendar-events/ for activities in your area.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the next few weeks!
Start shining them up!
John Griffith, President
